Low Altitude Assault Transport (LAAT) gunships (or simply Republic Gunships) were built by Rothana Heavy Engineering. The LAAT-series

gunships were used by the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. They primarily carried Clone Troopers and Jedi during battles and missions. Several attachments were/are also used, such as ball-turrets and searchlights.
They were first used on Geonosis, and last used when the Galactic Empire began building T4-series transport shuttles.
Variants[]
There were different variants of the LAAT the most common was the LAAT/i an infantry transport gunship, while the other being a dropship for deploying vehicles.
Wolfpack, the 501st Torrent Co., 212th Attack Battalion, and the Muunilinst 10 units of Clone Troopers all had personalized or customized gunships.
The Galactic Empire originally used modified and rebuilt versions of the LAAT/i before building T4 series transport shuttles.
